2WD MT Diesel : ₹ 21.98 lakhs
2WD AT GL Petrol : ₹ 22.18 lakhs
2WD AT GL Diesel : ₹ 23.90 lakhs
2WD AT GLS Diesel : ₹ 25.52 lakhs

November 24, 2016 – The all-new Hyundai Tucson, which recently went on sale in India, has received over 200 bookings since its launch on 14th November 2016. It shows the interest the SUV has generated among buyers. Interestingly, about 75% of the demand is for the diesel variants and 55% bookings are coming for the top-spec diesel trim with automatic transmissions. The SUV is available in three trim levels – 2WD MT, 2WD AT GL and 2WD AT GLS – with prices ranging from Rs 18.99 lakh to Rs 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). At this price, the Hyundai Tucson 2016 is competing against the Mahindra XUV500.

Engine options for the all-new Tucson include a 2.0L CRDi diesel and a 2.0L dual VTVT petrol. While the vehicle’s diesel mill is being offered across all trims, it’s only 2WD MT and 2WD ATGL variants that come fitted with the petrol engine. As a reminder, the first-generation Tucson was introduced in India in the year 2005, and discontinued within five years due to poor market demand. The compact premium SUV has now entered its third generation globally, and made its first public appearance at the Geneva Motor Show in September, 2015.

Hyundai said that the Tucson is a Native American name which portrays an image of a ‘Strong Sun’ lending a premium character with performance to the Brand. The SUV has been designed on Hyundai Motor’s new development philosophy – ‘Innovation of Fundamentals’ – representing safety, performance, ride & handling, durability and low NVH through continuous customer-centric innovations.

EXTERIOR

The new Hyundai Tucson is a third generation car globally. The styling is modern and resembles the Santa Fe. The gaping hexagonal front grille is flanked by swept back headlamps that have two projector units apart from the reflector unit for high-beam. The LED day-time running lamps are integrated on the fog-lamp housing on the front bumper which also gets a faux skid plate. The side profile also imitates the Santa Fe with the shoulder line climbing up towards the tailgate. The black cladding around the perimeter of the car gives it a rugged look. It also gets the i20 inspired tail lamps that stand out on the creased tailgate.

INTERIOR

The interiors are not as dramatic as the exterior but premium nonetheless. The Tucson is a five-seater SUV and gets a spacious cabin. The seats will get leather upholstery as an option. The top spec variant gets an electrically adjustable driver seat while the rear seats can be reclined and also split 60-40 and folded up as well. Two-zone automatic climate control, automatic headlamps, cruise control and push-button start are standard along with electrically foldable wing mirrors.

The dashboard is dominated by the touchscreen display at the centre with steering-mounted audio controls. It gets USB, AUX, Bluetooth connectivity along with GPS navigation. For safety, dual front airbags with ABS and EBD are standard across the range with the top-spec car getting six airbags.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION

The Hyundai Tucson is offered with both petrol and diesel engines. The 2.0-litre four cylinder turbo-diesel belts out 182bhp of power and 400Nm of torque and comes mated to six-speed manual and automatic transmissions. The 153bhp, 192Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol also comes with similar six-speed manual and automatic options. The Tucson gets only the front-wheel drive setup as of now expect the torque-on demand all-wheel drive Tucson to come in soon.

*The Tucson is slotted between the Hyundai Creta and the Hyundai Santa-Fe SUVs. It ideally competes with Honda CR-V and Skoda Yeti both being five-seater SUVs. But with its price tag it also competes with the Innova Crysta and D-segment sedans like Skoda Octavia, Toyota Corolla Altis and Chevrolet Cruze.

2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S Modified by "TECHART"

► Design by TECHART :

Wider, flatter and longer as its predecessors. The new Porsche 911 Turbo S models make promises to performance, tradition and, last but not least, to technological leadership. A distinctive design as well as meaningful proportions and innovative aerodynamics express these attributes evidently. The TechArt aerodynamic kit enhances the characteristic design language of the Porsche 911 in a technical, qualitative and stylistic way.

The TechArt aerodynamic kit for the Porsche 911 Turbo S models, made from a lightweight fiber composite of carbon and polyurethane RIM, is distinguished by high levels of load-bearing capacity and dimensional stability with a low tare weight. The TechArt front spoiler for the Porsche 911 Turbo S models incorporates the active aerodynamics at the basic vehicle's front apron and thus supports its functional capability. TechArt Automobildesign controls the set up of the adaptive series spoiler at the vehicle's front apron in a way that it either fully extends by the press of a button at speeds under 80 mph (120 km/h), or does so automatically at speeds of over 80 mph (120 km/h). When the driver reduces speed to 50 mph (80 km/h) the spoiler retracts automatically. The precise aerodynamic adaption of the vehicle's front to the static TechArt rear spoiler allows a perfect air flow to the complete vehicle and results in improved driving dynamics and stability throughout all driving conditions.

TechArt aero wings, which are integrated into the front air inlets, create a dynamic shaft outline and form the prominent TechArt family face in collaboration with the TechArt air vent at the front apron. Headlamp trims and decals are a further highlight of this exterior kit.

► Rear Design :

The innovatory power of the TechArt brand is not just visible from the vehicle's front, but also from its rear. Air-flow-optimized side skirts give a more compact appearance to the vehicle and guide the TechArt design language to the rear. The TechArt roof spoiler assimilates the typical roof line of the Porsche 911 Coupé models and forms an aesthetic and functional unit with a static rear spoiler. The diffuser trim, framed by the sport tailpipes made from stainless steel in dual oval tube design, completes the TechArt aerodynamic kit harmoniously.

A sport exhaust system with valve control and a sound muffler kit are going to generate solid acoustic performance. Both systems are about to be developed and will make their debuts at 84th Geneva International Motor Show 2014.

WHEEL SUSPENSION

The strength of the most powerful Porsche 911 models is emphasized by the new 21-inch TechArt Formula IV light-alloy wheel in 5-twin-spoke design. It is available in standard or individual colors as well as in a bi-color finish. The weight reduced TechArt Formula III forged wheel in 21-inch can be ordered for the Porsche 911 Turbo S models in standard or individual colors, in a bi-color finish as well as in ceramic burnished glossy smooth finish. The classic TechArt Formula light-alloy wheel in 20-inch is also available. TechArt Automobildesign is also developing a new TechArt 20-inch light-alloy wheel with center lock for an even more agile driving behavior.

The TechArt spring kit is going to bring the vehicle body closer to the tarmac. In addition, TechArt is in the middle of the developing process for a noselift system, which has already been available for the Porsche 911 Carrera and Carrera 4 models. It convinces due to reliability, rapid and quiet height adjustment, trouble-free retrofitting and TUV certification.

ENGINE

The TechArt program for the Porsche 911 Turbo S models is going to celebrate its premiere at 84th Geneva International Motor Show 2014 in line with the TechArt Power Kit TA 091/T1. This power kit is based on the intelligent TechArt engine management system TECHTRONIC and provides extra-performance for the Porsche 911 Turbo S models.

2011 Mercedes SLS AMG "Gullstream" by FAB Design

► INTRODUCTION :

It’s one day into the much-anticipated Geneva Auto Show, and we’re up to our necks in new releases and concept cars. We promise more coverage of the positive as soon as we’re able to it dig out, but this is the Internet, and the hate can’t wait.

Ironically named Fab Design has come through with something we didn’t think possible, an SLS AMG we wouldn’t want to be caught dead in. From afar, its matte-blue paint looks to hold a sea of promise, but that’s where this ship stops sailing. Look closer, and you’ll see the “designer” has incorporated some downright awful bodywork, and set it on color-matched blue wheels that would look better on a Ford Probe.

Oh yeah, we don’t want to mention the interior, but it’s like a train-wreck of blue & white (no more remixes, please!) that you can’t stop staring at—and not in a good way.

Fab Design, ummm, you’re doing it wrong.

Davel Sixteen Claims 5000hp / V16 / 560km/h / 0-60mph in 1.8sec.

IN DUBAI MOTORSHOW ( UAE ) - The Germans are very proud of their Bugatti Veyron, with its 1,200 horsepower and its world-record-holding 267.8 mph top speed. While simply staggering in its own right, these numbers pale in comparison to the power output and claimed top speed of the Devel Sixteen.

While the Veyron is a production car, the Devel Sixteen is a one-off that boasts 5000 hp, which will rocket the Sixteen to 60 mph in 1.8 seconds and onto a top speed of – I kid you not – 348 mph.

Find it hard to believe? Well, you should.

While we believe the quad-turbo V16 engine can produce 5000 hp, we don’t believe it could get that power to the road in any really meaningful way – nor do we believe this backroom rip-off of the Lamborghini Egoista could really go 80 mph faster than the Veyron.

Just for reference, the 975,000-pound Boeing 747 lifts off at 181 mph. At speeds above 200, wind resistance turns air into gelatin and accelerating through it is about as about as easy as sucking hardened cement through a crazy straw.

The Germans had to combine all their mind powers, a quad-turbo W16, and a king’s ransom worth of money just to push past the 260 mph mark. To believe that Rashid Al-Attari, the developer of the Devel Sixteen, and his designers could surpass Bugatti on their first try is laughable.

But, hey, this is the Dubai Motor Show, after all. In the land of sand and outrageous flamboyance, such a showing is par for the heavily watered and fertilized course.

What is more believable is what is called ‘street mode’ – or ‘reality mode’, as I like to think it. Push the ‘street mode’ button and the Devel Sixteen fires on eight of its 16 cylinders and only produces 800-900 hp, according to Automotive News.

Want to know how much the Devel Sixteen will cost and when you can order one? Well, keep waiting, Tag Romney. Devel hasn’t yet given any indication it’ll build more than one of these backwater brutes.

Should one of these get into the hands of an independent tester, we’ll be sure to bring you the update. So be sure to check back.
